Red Control acquires several BILANZ QUALITAT reagent-free portable COD, BOD and TOC instruments to monitor its WWTPs®
Red Control has acquired BILANZ QUALITAT® reagent-free portable instruments for measuring COD, BOD and TOC to monitor its wastewater treatment plants.
The managing director of BILANZ QUALITAT® handed over the instruments to Antonio V. Sánchez, technical director of Red Control, S. L., at its premises in the Parque Tecnológico de Paterna.

Red Control, S. L. is a wastewater treatment and environmental engineering company specialising in wastewater treatment and reuse. It manages and operates a number of treatment plants throughout Spain and has extensive hands-on experience with water treatment systems, covering not only wastewater treatment plants but also other processes such as desalination, filtration and osmosis.
The purchase of these instruments for its plants demonstrates Red Control's commitment to improving and monitoring water quality and to new water quality monitoring technologies.
These instruments will be used in 3 main areas:
- Monitoring and optimising wastewater treatment plants.
- Checking tankers that unload at the treatment plants, with real-time COD analysis before they discharge.
- Monitoring discharges reaching the various WWTPs, detecting the arrival of discharges with high COD and BOD loads at the plants, enabling immediate decisions and clearly identifying the source of the discharge.
The portable instruments measure COD, BOD and TOC quickly and accurately in 10 seconds without reagents, and log the data, which can be exported easily.
Their compact size means they can be placed almost anywhere, and their 5 V power supply allows them to be left measuring with a small battery at any point in the plant.
The instruments can also be left measuring continuously in gullies and inspection chambers to analyse the condition of the facilities and take decisions on discharge monitoring.
This BILANZ QUALITAT® portable range is complemented by its range of online equipment for industrial and urban wastewater treatment plants.

Highlights include optical analysers for COD, nitrate, ammonium, hydrocarbons and phosphate, which require no prior filtration.
