Lead probe

Ref. BQS-PB

Probe for measuring lead ions (Pb2+) in water and solutions by potentiometric measurement. For laboratory and water quality control.

The lead probe measures the concentration of lead ions (Pb2+) in water and aqueous solutions by potentiometric measurement.

What it is used for

It is used to monitor and control lead in water, in processes and in laboratory analysis, where a direct and fast measurement of this ion is needed.

How it is used

The electrode is connected to an ion meter or to a pH meter with a millivolt input, together with a reference electrode. The signal obtained depends on the lead concentration in the sample.

Things to keep in mind

  • Other ions present in the sample can affect the measurement.
  • Calibrate with lead standards before measuring and repeat the calibration regularly.
  • Temperature, pH and the ionic strength of the sample influence the result.
  • For accurate measurements, treat the sample and the standards in the same way.
